Did you know that about 40% of food is wasted somewhere along the supply chain? That’s like stepping out of a grocery store with five bags of food and dropping two in the parking lot. You may not think you waste that much food at home, but the little bits here and there add up.
The Stop Food Waste Challenge will help you notice when you are wasting food, connect you with resources to help you reduce it, and provide support and motivation along the way.
Remember that developing new habits is a gradual process. Start by browsing the actions within each category and select actions that make sense for you and your household. In this challenge, you can select up to five daily actions and five one-time actions.

August 21 at 3:01 PMIn this challenge, I found myself being more creative in the kitchen. Instead of discarding slightly soft apples, I baked them into muffins. Carrot tops that I would normally throw away were turned into pesto. I’ve learned that with a little creativity, almost every fruit or vegetable can be used in a new way.
