    Today is the last day for the food waste challenge. During this entire month there are many new learnings, and understood the importance of food, how to stop the food waste and then how to use the waste into compose techniques was learned. I thanks Hennepin country for all there efforts to conveys the learning of food waste and how to minimize the food waste.
    Many thanks to all the participants and different organizations to compete during this event and in my eyes " everyone is the winner," so congratulations to all of them.

    I am sharing some facts that I have captured from the internet.
    U.S. Wasted Food Facts:
    • 40% of all food in the United States is wasted.
    • 25% of all freshwater we consume goes to produce food we never eat.
    • 4% of the oil we consume goes to produce food we never eat.
    • $166 billion (retail value of preventable waste) is spent on the food we never eat.

    Eating before go to the store can help us avoid impulse purchases. If required sometime we can also bring snacks with us in case we get hungry while shopping.

    Before going out i also prefer to create a list of items that way it is going to help that way we avoid buying things you don't intend to get.
    Stick to your list.

    Meal planning can help us eat better and spend less.

    Keep more healthy foods, like fruits and vegetables, at home. Pack a healthy lunch and snacks for work. Put my snacks on a plate instead of eating from the package. Limit how often we eat out.

    Learning how to properly store food is one of the best ways to save money, reduce waste, and enjoy leftovers at a later date. It's also crucial for preventing food poisoning, an illness that can put a damper on any meal.

    I am happy that little change in habits bring lot of sense towards wasting food. Now I have Adopted a healthier, more sustainable diet. Buy Only what we need and Store food wisely.
