REFLECTION QUESTIONShoppingWhat food items do you prefer buying from a farmers market than a grocery store? Why?
Jenny Kedward 8/29/2025 8:51 AMI needed an eggplant, onions, and garlic. My husband was headed to the store but I asked him to hold out getting those items. I wanted to make sure we supported local farmers and have an excuse to stop by a farmers market. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONShoppingDid you know what "gleaning" was before you joined this challenge? Have you noticed any fruits trees or berry patches in your neighborhood that produce more than is being used up?
Jenny Kedward 8/19/2025 12:13 PMI "foraged" from my neighbors who have a surplus of gooseberries, pears, and cucumbers. I also mixed in some "weeds" from my yard in a salad: purslane, lamb's quarter.-

REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityHow did you share your food-waste-reduction journey? What was the reaction to your posts?
Jenny Kedward 8/01/2025 2:51 PMI shared the challenge on Facebook and a Instagram story. I pushed the fact that an average family wastes $3000 on food we don't each. -
Jenny Kedward 8/01/2025 2:36 PMI'm excited to kick off the challenge! I hope to finally make it to a farmers market this week (how is it already August?) and learn how to make my own cleaner from citrus rinds.
