Welcome to the Stop Food Waste Challenge!

You may have heard that 40% of food is wasted somewhere along the supply chain. That’s like stepping out of a grocery store with five bags of food and dropping two of them in the parking lot. Wasting food wastes a ton of resources - including all of the money you spent on it and the energy and water it takes to grow, process, and transport it. You may not think you waste a lot of food at home, but the little bits here and there add up. In fact, consumers are the biggest source of food waste in the U.S. But that’s also good news because we can have a big impact by making changes in our kitchens and at the grocery store.

The Stop Food Waste Challenge will help you notice when you are wasting food, connect you with resources to help you reduce it, and provide support and motivation along the way.
