Rachel Hopwood 8/21/2024 5:33 PMSo far today, I've used three different items from my farmers market shopping trip. Cantaloupe, mushrooms, and broccoli. I use locally sourced milk that comes in glass bottles with a bottle return program. I need to pick up some carrots after work, and I will intentionally look for MN grown produce. -
Rachel Hopwood 8/21/2024 5:25 PMI just spent the last week on a road trip with my friends and there was very little food waste. We planned all of our meals and snacks ahead of time. We rarely had leftovers, but when we did they were eaten. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONPlanningBesides having access to fresh herbs and vegetables, what benefits will you see from growing your own garden?
Rachel Hopwood 8/21/2024 5:17 PMIt feels good to see something green and growing on my porch. I am more likely to use the herb and it won't go to waste like it normally would. In the past when I've had to buy basil, I'd use maybe a third of the package and the rest would end up going to waste.
