Mary Houdek 8/01/2024 1:19 PMI am lucky in that I generally do have time to meal prep; however, some days I feel too tired (e.g. after I have had my granddaughters all day!) and wish I didn't have to prep anything! -

Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money? How has meal planning helped you avoid waste?
Mary Houdek 8/01/2024 1:16 PMI meal planned, almost obsessively, during the pandemic (had the time). During that time, I made very strict grocery lists and followed them closely and rarely ended up with food that needed to be thrown away. I still like to meal plan; however, if I shop for a week of meals and something changes (e.g. we decide to go out for dinner or decide on a pizza night) I am not very good at making sure that I still make those skipped meals as soon as possible so that my groceries don't go bad. -

Mary Houdek 8/01/2024 1:11 PMMost of the time, I am glad because we are not big left-over eaters; however, when I have made a recipe that we really like, I wish I had made more so that I could it eat it again the next day, for lunch!
