Be Smart About Food Labels

I will learn about food labels and not throw food out just based on the date on the package, but instead check the smell and color to see if it has gone bad.

Properly Store Avocados

I will allow green, unripe avocados to ripen on the counter then transfer them to the refrigerator. Once cut, I will keep the pit in and rub the avocado with lemon or oil to reduce browning. I will properly store 5 avocados.

We were throwing away a lot of our dinner leftovers, fresh and leftovers. We all came to the conclusion that we needed to stop making so much food/taking leftovers/asking who's going to be home for dinner more often.
