Gwen's actions
Planning
Create a Household Cookbook
I will create a cookbook or recipe collection of go-to meals for my household to make meal planning easier.
Planning
Plant a Garden
I will plant an herb or vegetable garden at my home or community garden.
Storage
Properly Store Avocados
I will allow green, unripe avocados to ripen on the counter then transfer them to the refrigerator. Once cut, I will keep the pit in and rub the avocado with lemon or oil to reduce browning. I will properly store 4 avocados.
Shopping
Buy Loose Produce and Shop the Bulk Bins
I will buy loose produce with a reusable bag or food from the bulk section to get the exact quantity I need.
Cooking
Make Soup Broth
I will store vegetable scraps or bones in my freezer and use them to make veggie stock or bone broth. I will make 1 batches.
Storage
Organize My Refrigerator
I will organize my refrigerator to maximize shelf life based on the temperature and humidity of different spots.
Storage
Properly Store Veggie Snacks
I will put carrots and celery in jars filled with water to keep them fresh, crisp, and easy to grab for up to a week. I will properly store 4 veggie snacks.

REFLECTION QUESTIONStorage Organize My RefrigeratorDid you find that you were storing things in a spot that wasn't a good fit? Which items have you changed?
Gwen Wasmund 8/22/2024 8:29 AMMy fridge was in okay shape for proper storing. I made myself prepare my herbs for proper storage after returning from the grocery store which was hard because I was tired. Disregarding proper storage, I moved some snacking fruits and veg to the top shelf because I'm more likely to eat them if I see them.
